(no subject)

I once read a story called "There's an Alien on the Internet" by Joanne Peterson. It's about a kid whose Internet friend refuses to send pictures of himself, and claims it's because he's an alien and his energy signature can't be caught on film. Turns out the actual reason he doesn't send pictures is that he's embarrassed about his physical disability and thinks others will think less of him. Calling himself an alien is easier than talking about his actual situation.

I don't argue with otherkin. I just figure "there's a werewolf on the Internet."

(Meanwhile, I'm over here being a lamia on the Internet.)
