My old complaints about Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey get a lot funnier given that I didn’t like Undertale. “I’m playing a character who thinks humans can make peace with demons, so why do I have to kill demons in order to level up? The mechanics make a level 1 run wildly impractical, too. Why can’t I play the whole game just using the conversation mechanic to talk my way out of battles?” *Undertale comes out* “No, not like that!”
