The Pure don’t know how special they are. They think they have God’s blessing, but that’s mostly stuff like “less likely to get diseases” and “better control over their own fertility.” God doesn’t solve their problems for them, and they think any Tinker could mimic what they do if that Tinker also found faith and cast aside heretical modifications.
The Pure have FTL? The Coalition simply failed to figure it out. The Pure can nullify other races’ powers? Those powers are mostly illusions and trickery. The Pure’s crusade against the Parasites is succeeding, ergo it’s possible to win against the Parasites, ergo all the complications that prevent the Coalition from winning aren’t really problems.
(A few Pure trade with Nomads. Sooner or later, they’re going to realize that Nomads have genuine powers, and they’ll have a lot of rationalizing to do.)

The Coalition doesn’t know how powerful the Pure are. The Pure are just those nutjobs who arbitrarily reject technology while pretending spaceships and mounted laser guns don’t count as technology. They handicap their own power, ergo they’re weaker than the Coalition, ergo the Coalition could squash them if it came down to war.
Some Pure defectors offer warnings, frantic stories that make no sense. They largely go ignored. What would it even mean, if the Pure could do things humans can’t? How would that be possible?

The Parasites refuse to believe how dangerous the Pure are. Sure, a few outlying worlds fell to Pure invasion. Those Parasites must have been weaklings. Parasites are gods, ergo they can crush mortals, ergo the Pure will fall like every race before them.
Parasites aren’t used to defeat, and they’ll take a long time to recognize it. By the time they realize a new empire is challenging their dominance, it will be far too late.
