May. 24th, 2026 06:47 amIn the 2000s, I watched a movie where the main character’s son goes missing during a plane flight. She blames this on a man the movie refers to as “an Arab,” and he’s openly angry at the racism.
After she gets her son back (from a white guy), she and the Arabic guy share a look. I’m not great with facial expressions, but he didn’t seem angry, so I interpreted it as silent forgiveness. And I wondered if it was a white scriptwriter who wrote an Arabic person forgiving a white person for racism.
