He was obsessed with notions of fate and morality before even meeting Dio. He has a tragic backstory all his own that Dio barely had any hand in. Just remembered that my parents made me and my brother watch all three LOTR extended editions when I couldn't have been older than 13 (and thus my brother couldn't have been older than 11).
