Eiyu Senki makes no damn sense

Knuckle damage is strong against every weapon type except Sword. Because when someone is running at you with an axe, the best course of action is to punch them.

Axes are strong against Swords. But in Fire Emblem, Swords are strong against Axes. What’s the truth?

Anything with a short blade and less reach than a throwing knife does Knuckle damage. This includes a spiked parasol, which really seems more like it should do Spear damage. Also, throwing knives can do Knuckle damage instead of Throwing damage, but only with a special throw that has less range than a regular throw.

If you don’t want to do Cannon damage, you can pick up a cannonball and throw it for Throwing damage.

I will admit that last one is awesome.

Fire Emblem: the types of melee weapons are strong against each other rock-paper-scissors style. Melee, ranged, and magic are also strong against each other rock-paper-scissors style.

Eiyu Senki: the types of close-range weapons are strong against each other rock-paper-scissors style. Close-range weapons are strong against long-range weapons, but guns are mutually strong against close-range weapons. Axes and knuckles (but not swords) are strong against mid-range weapons, and throwing weapons (but not spears) are mutually strong against axes and knuckles. Spears are strong against long-range weapons. Cannons are strong against mid-range weapons. Everything's strong against magic, and magic's strong against nothing. Fuck you.
