You know those posts about how lesbian attraction is purer than straight attraction, because lesbians are attracted to things straight men consider ugly? I just figured out why those posts gross me out. One of the big reasons I can't be attracted to masculinity is that, basically, I'm not into stench fetish. Masculinity is so heavily associated with not caring about your appearance, you're treated as effeminate if you're anything other than gross, and since I don't like gross, I'm not into manly men. All this stuff about pure lesbian attraction to what men abhor seems like a backhanded way for women to claim stench fetish as their own, and I still don't want to deal with stench fetish regardless of the gender involved. (Granted, I'm not a lesbian, but I'm also not any gender or sexuality that's expected to be attracted to stinky men, and I can still complain about everything associated with that.)
