All these folks making zombie apocalypse plans, and I already know I’m in for a slow, painful death if I can’t get my medication anymore. Your apocalyptic power fantasy is disability-exclusive.

look at this scrub whose zombie apocalypse fantasy doesn't involve the simplicity and belonging of The Swarm

I mean if the idea is "the zombie apocalypse fantasy is problematic because some people would be much worse off in that scenario" I feel like the fact that it's a zombie apocalypse probably qualifies without even involving disability discourse

It's hard to explain, but until you have met one of the trigger happy dudebros who are convinced they would survive the Apocalypse but dont know how to feed themselves ... its hard to see toxic masculinity in terms of it's being deadly *to men*. But there are men who are so afraid of femininity that they would actually rather die than learn anything that might make them ever seem less than 100% masculine.

(Unless you look at the suicide statistics, that is.)

To paraphrase an old friend on a blog I used to follow:

"It's not that I'm going to die a slow painful death in the zombie apocalypse. I'm just joining the winning team! Team Zombie!"

Also lol yeah, I too will be the first against the wall when the zombie revolution arrives.
