What’s the purpose of saying “a deputy-involved shooting occurred”? I mean, I understand the point of lying and saying a suspect shot someone when it was actually a cop who shot someone. But “deputy-involved shooting” doesn’t even obscure that a cop shot someone. I don’t see how cops benefit from it compared to just saying a cop fired.
