I am still fucking mad about the ending of The Wishing Stone

Ugh. If I’d stopped at the good ending, I would have called The Wishing Stone a well-written (if incredibly freaking hard) game that reminds me of Blank Dream. But the true ending path makes most of what came before feel small and irrelevant in comparison to the issues it raises, and makes everything revolve around an infuriating out-of-nowhere character who I don’t think was even mentioned before.

From the depths of the Ukraine game bundle: The Wishing Stone

The protagonist has to make a wish, and strongly suspects she’s dealing with a jackass wish-granter. So she wishes for a chocolate bar.

The wishing stone gives her a free coupon for a chocolate bar at the magical night market. There didn’t use to be a night market. Better hurry along now, though! She doesn’t want to know what will happen if she doesn’t go to the market and get the chocolate.

P.S. Holy crap, this game took a dark turn later on.
