To some extent, it’s not just that I disbelieve in the concept of the generalized male oppressor/generalized white oppressor/generalized Gentile oppressor/what have you. It’s also that I disbelieve in justice. There seems to be an idea that getting the oppressor to understand how much they wronged you is the first step towards getting justice against them. I just want to get the little guys on my side against the biggest threats so we have a numerical advantage.

See also: soldiers. If they frame themselves as innocent victims of the higher-ups who forced them to do horrible shit, that makes them potential allies against the higher-ups.

Elven court as tourist trap. Gaudy and hedonistic, full of dancing and feasting, but with a quiet air of desperation as impoverished elves do their best to extract money from wealthy humans. Looking like a proper royal court is expensive, and their whole system will collapse if there aren’t enough customers to pay off their debts.
