Person A: “These intersex women got insulted and called ‘men’ just because they were good at sports.”

Person B: “People are mad at trans women in sports even when those trans women are bad at sports.”

Person C: “Whether trans women should be banned from women’s sports isn’t determined by whether trans women are good at sports, and we shouldn’t argue based on the premise they’re bad or the premise they’re good.” (They didn’t say anything about intersex women, but I assume the same applies.)

I think C is arguing from the safest rhetorical position. Both A and B seem easy to undercut.

I’m partial to position D, but it’s a bit more granular than the others: “Black female athletes keep getting tested and determined to be intersex, while white female athletes who might be intersex aren’t forced to be tested. This is because racists already think black women are like men.”

Credit I will give that TERF though:

I watched a video essay about this Christian furry who got harassed out of the fandom because she declined a request to draw a furry holding a pride flag. I apologize to Christians for thinking this shit was hypothetical. And nobody in the video is willing to come out and say she did nothing wrong by personally declining a request! The most you can get out of them is that she didn't deserve this level of harassment, and they always add that they "can't condone her transphobia"!

If you’re arguing about whether someone is a grifter or a believer in white supremacy, you need to pin down what “belief” means for a white supremacist. It’s apparently pretty nebulous.

Can we collectively admit “alien decides whether humans should all be killed for being evil” is just misdirected Christian guilt? Or do we have to keep pretending it’s a serious question whether we “deserve” not to be genocided?

Come to think of it, why is it never queer men who get taken down by these campaigns by other queer people to label them as “problematic”? I saw someone try to start something against Richard Siken, but it didn’t catch on at all.

On Tumblr, there's lots of minority-on-minority rage whenever a minority member talks about restraining, disarming, or otherwise physically stopping someone for trying to beat them up. This isn't even cops--I've seen minority-member autism educators and minority-member psych ward workers get raged at by other minority members for trying to stop someone from physically attacking them. "Taking away someone's cane is an act of violence." "Hitting me over the head with a cane is an act of violence, so I took it away until they stopped hitting me."

Surprisingly, I haven't seen much rage at the doctor I sometimes see talk about restraining people for trying to beat him up. Then again, I don't think the doctor has disclosed membership in any minorities, and it seems to be easier to start a rage campaign against minority members.

Read an article about ten great black women in anime. I remembered Sister Krone, and I was surprised they could find ten black women in anime who weren’t stereotypes. Then Sister Krone was on the list. Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel.
