A realization

There are people who think transwomen are liars who oppress "real" women, and there are people who think asexual people are somehow oppressive to gay people. These two groups use very similar lines of argument and rhetorical tactics, to the point that they're easily confused with each other. But a lot of the anti-trans crowd have usernames with "asexual" or "demisexual" in them. Does that mean the people who're making those horrible bigoted anti-trans arguments are themselves being targeted with horrible bigoted arguments? And do they even recognize the parallels?

I mean... also it's a not uncommon practice of douchebags to claim or pretend they're a member of the marginalized group--Twitter trolls yoinking selfies from rabbis and black women from places like Getty Images so as to enhance in-fighting and trolling.

So I admit, my kneejerk reaction is to go, "Are they ACTUALLY ace/demi, or just yoinking that because they know it'll help sow confusion and infighting?"
