When people talk about fascism as human nature, I respond the same way as when they talk about gender as human nature. When adults constantly reinforce it with threats of punishment, there’s no way to tell whether or not kids would pick up on it without punishment.

Partly true, regarding punishment.

But we know that gender is nature, and innate, because many children have perceived theirs and expressed it even with adults lying that they are some other gender.

Children sometimes perceived that they don’t fit in the box they’ve been crushed into. Some subset of them find the other box less crushing. But that doesn’t mean it’s not a box.

P.S. I agree with pretty much everything Self-Loving-Vampire says about gender, and she expresses some of it better than I can.
