If you look at something like A Spell for Chameleon, the bimbo is an essentially passive character. She gets into a situation involving a man, and then she gets led wherever that man wants her to go. She has no interests save for sex and maybe self-beautification, and she actively rejects higher thinking as “too hard.”
Contrast Arianna in Etrian Odyssey Untold 2. She’s kindly, but actively so, going out of her way to help others. She’s brave, friendly, and inquisitive, even if she doesn’t always understand the answers. She just happens to have the IQ of a golden retriever, and that makes her much more like a “himbo” character.
