I tried reading Dean Koontz again
Oct. 16th, 2019 04:39 amMy father gave me the book because it was weird, and I “like weird things.” It’s about a guy who lives in the sewers, because something about his eyes makes people instinctively want to kill him. About halfway through, I gave in and asked my father what the deal with the eyes was supposed to be, because the book clearly wasn’t going to explain anytime soon. Turns out the guy was born without original sin, and people want to kill him because he reminds them of their sinful nature. Also, the book ends with a North Korean bioweapon getting out and killing everyone on Earth except the people who lack original sin, and somehow this also leads to every animal on the planet being able to survive on just fruit so they don’t have to eat each other anymore. Fuck this.
