I don't want to predict anything too strongly, since Portland is worse than Trump usually gets. But historically, people who aren't likely to be targeted have engaged in a weird sort of roleplaying. Like human trafficking--poor people get trafficked, and then middle-class people come up with paranoid fantasies about how they might be trafficked and how to prevent it. (This is one reason I stopped reading Tredlocity, the other being that they couldn't tell the difference between "this religious group is going to hurt people" and "OP hates this religious group and made up bullshit about how they're going to hurt people.") I'm not saying things can't happen here, because they do and are happening here. But it's unusual and newsworthy when they happen to different people than the same folks they always happen to.
