I’m playing the Yakuza RPG.
This is one of those games where I look at the character writing and go “no one involved in this game has ever so much as spoken to a person who wasn’t straight and cis.” (I’ve been told the Yakuza series is typically like this.)
Why are there so many classes that only deal blunt damage? I’m trying to cover as many weaknesses as possible, but the only electric skill I’ve seen so far is at twice my job level, and I think I have to max out bond levels to teach anyone a gun skill. I want to try classes like Enforcer or Night Queen, but I have so much blunt damage already.
You took away my healer right before a boss that does AoE gun damage? Seriously?
Two of my remaining characters’ healer class (Musician) looks kinda sucky, so I had to reclass my mage (Hostess) to a healer (Idol.) Then to get some magic damage going, I reclassed my Breaker to a Host, even though he’s been gaining physical attack all game and kinda sucks at magic. I ended up with a party where my Bodyguard does most of the damage, but at least I have good survivability with healing and a surprisingly accurate charm move.
The Shogi minigame will forever go untouched.
WHY do you not get to keep any bond points that go over the limit, before you go all the way to the edge of the map to get the limit increased? Our friendship is worth nothing, literally.
The enemy spawn rate is Too Damn High. You can’t run from battles, some streets are too narrow to go around them, and sometimes there are enemies in both directions that would get you the way you need to go.
I complain because I care. Honestly, I’m invested in these goofy cis people, and I like the combat system. The best possible way to cast a “fire spell” is with a lighter and a bottle of alcohol.
