I found a negative review of Yuri Is My Job that basically said it does a bad job of being traditional yuri. But I feel like that’s the point? Traditional yuri is the scenario the characters play out for the customers, and the story is about what’s behind the act. If you try to judge a story by a rigid rubric of genre expectations, you won’t be able to appreciate it on its own terms.
