Reading about a fetish webcomic on TV Tropes, I went “this looks dumb as shit.” Then I thought that was just the shame I’d internalized about honest displays of sexual desire, and I needed to get over that. It was close enough to my fetish, so I tried to read it. It was dumb as shit.

There’s a particular kind of romance that I refer to as a Madoka/Homura romance, because I hang out with the kind of nerds who know what that means. I actually think of it as an Annie on My Mind romance, and it’s something I seek out. A few more examples:

Dr. Franklin’s Island, the B-horror version of this

Mary Skelter 2, a tribute to these romances

Demons Roots, where the girl with the vivisection fetish turns out to be the Madoka of the pair

Princess Tutu isn’t this, but it would be in a Duck/Rue AU. (Amusingly, the closest thing to Homura’s plot role is held by Duck’s canon male love interest.)
