In this game, having dark skin means you’re descended from benevolent gods, but light-skinned people call you a “witch” and try to kill you because of the Pope’s smear campaign. The MC wears whiteface makeup to sneak into town. I have no idea what the racial politics here looked like to the Japanese devs, but as an American, I now have a question mark where my brain should be.
