That thing in fantasy stories where the nature-themed characters understand what’s going on, and they condescend to the science-themed characters for not knowing, but they refuse to explain anything when the science-themed characters try to learn what they’re missing.

(Horizon Zero Dawn 2 reverses this one. Aloy condescends towards anyone who doesn’t have her scientific knowledge.)
