One thing from early Arknights that I think is missing now: fallen heroes everywhere. Talulah was a hero before she emotionally checked out and let Kashchey run her movement into the ground. Wei Yenwu was a hero before he became the establishment and violently cracked down on perceived threats. The Doctor was a hero, became a ruthless bastard out of necessity, got amnesia and became a hero again, and may have to become a ruthless bastard again. Amiya’s a hero who’s prophecied to fall and destroy civilization. Only Kal’tsit didn’t fall, and that’s because her worst sins weren’t revealed until much later.

The problem with making a female version of Joker from Persona 5 is that I don’t think she’d be enough of a blank slate. Joker already has a surprisingly defined personality for a wild card. If she’s a woman who tries to stop Shido from assaulting that other woman, that can’t be described as following a generic male idea of chivalry, and I think that means she’d have a specific persona.
