People practice comebacks for when someone is racist or sexist, but are too shocked to say anything when it actually happens. I wonder if you could just practice saying “What the fuck?” Because that’s the core of it, isn’t it? What the fuck, you really said that?

Some people think “If this happened, it would be really bad. Therefore, it won’t happen.” My theory is that this also applies to companies. “It would be really bad if one of our planes suffered a mechanical failure, but of course that won’t happen. Nothing will go wrong if we relax maintenance standards.”
