The Legion seems to be an attempt at a “realistic” version of the villains from The Postman, and The Postman’s villains built their entire society around what would now be called toxic masculinity. A lot of that still bleeds through in NV, though it’s not quite as blatant. I think if you’re struggling with the idea that you “have to” be male and masculine, there’s a lot of satisfaction in killing the Legion.
