When a genre develops a tradition of ignoring uncomfortable questions, parodies come along that mock the genre’s lack of morals, e.g. superhero parodies where the “heroes” are awful people. I consider this an insult to the genre. I’d rather have something that fixes the problem instead of pointing and laughing at the problem.

If they're just pointing and laughing, I would imagine that "insult to the genre" is exactly the intended effect.
