Can you really use a merchandised character to represent anticapitalism?

(I think this about a lot of stuff, actually.)

Video game pet peeve: the game gives you what’s supposed to be an awesome temporary weapon that can kill enemies so much better than your usual weapons. (Examples range from the “giant robot pal” in Bulletstorm to what amounts to a bombing run in Tooth and Tail.) To make sure you can appropriately use it during the time you have it, you’re matched against a ridiculously huge enemy onslaught. Only the weapon isn’t THAT good, so you’re just fighting an unreasonably huge enemy horde and dying over and over and over.
