Another thought on obscenity

I’m reading a book where the worldbuilding is basically “what if Dishonored was even more grubby and unpleasant?” One of the characters gets bloodily turned inside out by a failed demon summoning, and there’s implications of all kinds of torture and exploitation. But it’s YA, so the characters say “muck” instead of “fuck.” Clearly, F-bombs are the thing that would make this story inappropriate.
