(no subject)
Mar. 31st, 2020 03:19 pmDisregarding anything to do with precedent, my general feeling about the idea of butch as a “lesbian” word is that words are meant to describe something. We have the word “nerd,” and that describes its subjects well enough that we don’t need “nerdette.” (We also don’t need “blerd,” which is a stupid word anyway.) We have “goth,” and we don’t call anyone “gothboy” or “gothita.” So if “butch” creates an understandable description of a certain kind of person, and the people who fit that description aren’t always lesbians, then I don’t think the word needs to always be lesbian, either.
(Another possibility is “no one should use that word for anyone,” which is how I react to the N-word.)

The landlord was trying to find a way to pay his mortgage without having to evict his current tenant. This is what I posted:
I saw one response to this post that gave guidance on how to defer payment on the mortgage, and therefore not evict the renter. I saw lots of responses that criticized the landlord’s morals, but didn’t give any guidance that would avoid evicting the renter. Anger is meaningless without something that can be acted on.

Hey, if Sigma wasn’t gonna read it, I might as well try it.
It has a really flat, straightforward writing style. I feel like I’m reading a fan translation of a light novel. That makes it hard to tell whether or not it’s well-written, which worries me a bit. I have a history of reading pornographic works where I couldn’t tell whether they were well-written or not, and in the past, they’ve done really creepy things with dubcon that got stuck in my brain as intrusive thoughts for a few days after. Still, this one hasn’t had anything too creepy so far, so I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt for now.
