Olivier is more nuanced than I expected. If you reset some traps to kill enemy soldiers, he disapproves, because the chance of a few dead soldiers isn’t worth the risk of killing passersby. But if you kill an army deserter who might report your location, he approves, because there’s too much of a risk the deserter will sell you out to stop the army from chasing him. He’s the “pragmatic” character, but he does have standards; he just doesn’t let them overrule his good sense.

You don’t need to gather many materials to build any given machine at your hideout. The problem is one of morale. The more cramped the hideout gets with useful machines, the more things like televisions and potted plants you need to make the place more comfortable. Most machines also need power, so you need to build generators, and then you need to offset the comfort penalty from the generators. At the second tier of machines, you also face issues with air quality, so you need to build air purifiers, and you need generators to power the air purifiers, and you still need to offset the comfort penalty. Then the third tier of machines is radioactive . . .

From your perspective, I switch back and forth between a more defensible argument and a less defensible argument. Therefore, I must be lying when I support the more defensible argument.

From my perspective, you’re fractally wrong, and I keep trying different arguments in the hopes at least one of them will get through to you.
