Sep. 25th, 2023 01:15 pmLamias everywhere there are snakes. Lamias that climb trees. Lamias that burrow in sand. Incredibly venomous sea lamias. Lamias that mooch in your backyard. You flee north, but find lamias in the Arctic Circle. You cannot escape the snek.

Apr. 26th, 2020 09:49 pmOf course you have to step on snek. Snek doesn’t have feet, so snek can’t step on you. It’s a bit of a sore point for snek doms, actually.

Jun. 19th, 2019 12:52 pmMe: It’s kind of sad that so many of us are alienated from being human. We call ourselves aliens, or demons, or mermaids, and we make art of ourselves in those forms, because we’re queer/disabled/autistic and we’ve been treated like monsters. It would be better if we could claim ourselves as people like everyone else.
Also me, @any depiction of a lamia: It me.

Jan. 27th, 2019 08:28 pm I like lamias, because if you trace the myth back far enough, they're not so much girls who are serpents as girls who have serpents, if you catch my drift. In the really old mythology, lamias are treated as horrifying and disgusting, and their genitals are their most disgusting part of all. Then later you have the lamias who are beautiful but evil, and in contemporary fiction, you have lamias who are cute and friendly. They're moving towards acceptance at the same time those of us with a less-than-conventional relationship with gender are moving towards acceptance.
