My issues with Steven Universe run so much shallower than the “SU critical” crowd. They post all this stuff about race and class and sex and what SU says about them, and I don’t think SU said most of those things, not even accidentally or in passing. In fact, I think SU said the exact opposite of some of the things it’s criticized for.

My issue with SU is that I think it needed to either ditch the ending, or else ditch Keeping It Together. Keeping It Together, specifically, went a thousand times harder than it needed to, and even though it’s one of my favorite episodes, it casts a shadow over every other episode involving the Diamonds. SU could still have Nightmare Hospital, and a slightly modified Gem Drill, as long as it didn’t have Keeping It Together.

Thinking about how a Spy x Family/Ace Attorney crossover would work. Maybe Yor is the one on trial, accused of being the infamous Thorn Princess and killing a political figure. Athena defends her, but finds something suspicious about her husband. His emotional reactions remind her of the phantom …

But he didn’t do it either, and Athena needs to let go of her preconceptions in order to save her client.

(I’m never actually writing this, but if I was, Yuri would be the killer. He found out the politician was blackmailing his sister.)

P.S. The main reason I thought of this was realizing how much Maya would love Bondman.
