I’m debating whether to unblock someone whose bad posts consistently inspire effortposts from a wide variety of experts explaining why they’re wrong. I’m starting to think they have an actual talent.

A person who I will not link:

walk around and talk to people, pull them aside to ask how things are, make them feel like their opinion matters (it does), and sometimes make up tasks. i just wholesale make shit up through lies.

I hate you so very much. When I’m wracking my brain trying to figure something out, I do not need you interrupting me for “just five minutes” that end up taking so much more than five minutes. When I help you, it’s because I actually think you need the help, and I’m prioritizing you over me in that instance. I’ve dealt with multiple people who thought I could give “just five minutes” when they didn’t really need my help, and I always fall for their bullshit the first few times because I assume they’re genuinely struggling.

The thing about these ethnic separatism posts is that I’m not more or less supportive of separatism based on the ethnicity involved. One person posted that Hawaii should separate because soldiers keep raping the locals, and fine, sure, North Dakota could also separate if soldiers keep raping the locals. Another person wants to bring back the Hawaiian monarchy, and I’m skeptical that Hawaiians have any more need for monarchy than North Dakotans.

Reading a well-recommended book that immediately turns me off. The back cover has positive quotes from McCaffrey, Goodkind, and Bradley. Now there’s a combination that hasn’t aged well.

(It also has a rec from someone named Jennifer Roberson, who’s apparently written a gazillion famous things I’ve never heard of.)
