I do think there’s a distinction between online and offline friendships. When I offend someone offline, I can talk to them later and apologize. When I offend someone online, they add me to their blocklist and presumably never think about me again.

I’ve read those essays claiming that “dungeon crawls” are proxies for racism, with orcs and goblins as black people. Honestly, I don’t think most of these game devs think hard enough to make the monsters proxies for anything or anyone. But if you promote how woke and inclusive your game is, maybe it’s worth pointing out the dissonance in how many “inferior races” get killed along the way.

When bad analogies are outlawed, only outlaws will have bad analogies.

You talk about “welfare queens” who leech from your money and contribute nothing, but the folks I’ve talked to aren’t “leeching” and aren’t the source of your problems. They’re in as much shit as you are.

You talk about “landlords” who leech from your money and contribute nothing . . .

Headline: white women voted for Republicans.

Article: 53% of the white female vote went to Republicans.

Within a 6% margin, you could say white women voted for Democrats. That’s not that big.

Searched for the new game I thought was called Penitent. Turns out it’s actually Pentiment, “An underlying image in a painting, especially one that has become visible when the top layer of paint has turned transparent with age, providing evidence of revision by the artist.” I have never heard this word before in my life.
