Zettai Hero Project is a fascinating bit of postmodernism. The story is sentai, where heroes are supposed to be honorable. The gameplay is roguelike, where heroes survive by being cunning bastards. So you’ve got characters who think you’re in a sentai story and advise you how to behave based on that, and characters who think you’re in a roguelike and advise you how to behave based on that, and it’s practically a coin flip who’s right.

A few years ago, a blogger I liked aimed the Internet hate machine at another blogger I liked, and I stopped reading the former. She just posted about the trauma she’s suffered from having the Internet hate machine aimed at her. Did she learn not to deal out the same harassment that hurt her? Possibly, but I don’t want to read her blog again long enough to find out.
