My mother says the worst part of having a stroke is that she might get better. If she knew she was going to be tired and dizzy forever, she could accept that this is her life now, but the prospect of recovery keeps her hopes up as she has bad day after bad day.

There is nothing my phone loves more than to fall off of perfectly flat surfaces. It’s like that Mark Twain quote about how a young man with a musket he swears isn’t loaded will never fail to shoot his aunt. My phone that I swear is nowhere near a drop will never fail to fall.
