You know all those stories on Not Always Working where a beautiful, stupid, lazy woman gets men to do her work for her, and then she gets caught out and loses her job? You ever wonder if those are made up to push some kind of specific ideology?

You forgot the bonbons. She has to sit around eating bonbons while all the poor men do the work for her. :P

But oh yes, we're very familiar with that specific narrative.

I still don’t get what the end goal is, though. That guy who makes up stories about entitled pit bull owners wants to ban people from owning pit bulls. What are the lazy woman stories meant to ban?

When I had it leveled at me, it was to try and discourage women from having jobs (because why bother, men would have to do them anyway) and also get the hiring people to take the same philosophy.

(I'm not a woman, but it's not like those guys cared or could tell the difference. Some of these guys really didn't seem to realize that no, buddy, I can't just snap my fingers and conjure a legion of boytoys to do things for me.)

There was some phrase incels used to argue that Saudi Arabia is run by women, because the men will just do anything the women tell them to do. They talked about the driver fallacy or the frontrunner fallacy or some phrase like that, something to say you’re committing a fallacy if you think men are in charge.

Ah yes, I don't remember the exact name they have for it, but yes, I've seen that too! "Behind every powerful man is a powerful woman" and all that.

I think most people don't believe that level of nonsense, but I DO think more people kinda tacitly believe a much more mild version, that women are lazier and have it easier because men just do things for them. (Sometimes with the subtext of, "men can't resist the sexy.")

Even though generally, most people aren't willing to settle for shadow power if they can get the real thing!
