I keep thinking of dusting off the game I made. It was about four hours long, playable from start to finish, when they told me my grades were too low to stay in game design. I was too depressed to look at it again, so I put off the final tweaks and let it sit and sit until my computer died and I discovered the backup utility wasn’t meant for games. If you look at it in RPG Maker, everything appears to be there, but it glitches out if you try to actually play it.
I know it’s clearly a first game. There were a lot of lessons I had to learn while making it, and things I couldn’t do because I couldn’t make them work. (RPG Maker is not at all suited to quick, brutal fights.) But damn it, it was my game, and I still think there was some value in my story of a little slime-monster and a very big war. If I mess with it enough, there has to be some way to get it running again.
