Scrapyard Station: On Flowers

Of course there are non-invasive Parasites. The Flowers, a faction near Scrapyard Station, don’t take live drones even voluntarily. And yes, there are people who want to be drones. The Flowers politely informed them it would guarantee a violent response from the Tinkers.
However, they do trade for biomass with which to create new bodies. Animal meat, plants, that sort of thing. They’re active in asteroid mining to get trade materials.
The Flowers are oddly knowledgeable about Christianity, and some remarks indicate they may personally identify as Christian. They show a distinct interest in the development of Tinker art and culture, too. They’ve been vague about the reasons behind any of this, but it’s probably related to why their drone bodies resemble ambulatory Earth plants.
The Flowers originally come from the worst story I ever wrote. I’ve considered rewriting it to provide a better introduction to this setting, but that would be quite a ways off.
