I’m not Deaf, I’ve just read some of your posts. Would you say hearing is like a college education? You don’t actually need it, but a lot of doors are closed for you without it, often arbitrarily. Obnoxious people assume you have it, then when you don’t understand what they’re talking about, they assume you’re stupid. It can be way harder to get access to if you’re poor.
