Thoughts on Steamworld Heist characters

Using professions because I don’t remember their names.
Heroine: the area full-heal would be worth it on its own. Her skills don’t synergise with sniper rifles, so she’s probably better off with a handgun.
The sailor: generic tank with no obvious flaws.
The farmer: meant to annihilate one weak or injured enemy after another in quick succession, but her multi-shot weapons have too much spread to handle enemies that are distant or behind cover. Another character who might be better off with a handgun.
The strongman: tankiest character in the game, and still kinda sucks at tanking. Easy to injure him with his own explosions.
The mechanic: find a perch and start sniping for massive damage. A lot of missions play against his strengths by forcing him to constantly move, especially in the late game.
The soldier: looks useless until you level her up and she gets resistance to her own explosions. For when you want to make sure not a single enemy gets through a choke point.
The con man: the most mobile character in the game. Great for setting up pincer maneuvers. My personal fave.
The zoologist: damage+ on back attacks seems weird for a sniper, but she’s meant to bounce a shot off the walls and ceiling two or three times before it hits the target in the back.. When leveled up enough, she automatically crits on back attacks. Finding a good spot for her to attack from is easier said than done, even compared to the mechanic.
The diver: a melee specialist at a point in the game where everything is either off the ground or too durable to melee. If you really want to use him, remember that his ability to move after a kill also applies to handgun kills.
