Core armaments are a seriously freaky take on the old “psiblade” archetype. The standard approach to this kind of character is that they get stronger by having a stronger inner self—more willpower, more courage, or simply more awareness of their own nature. Epic Loot uses the idea of a sharper inner self with all unnecessary traits and desires ground away. The better you are at using a core armament, the less of a person you are, until all that’s left is a tool for efficiently clearing out dungeons.
