It told us that mummy curses aren’t real, because people notice a few coincidental deaths and falsely assume they’re a pattern. Then it told us global warming isn’t real, because people notice a few coincidental hot years and think they’re part of a pattern. If you want to claim that the people you disagree with are irrational, it’s easy to construct some argument for why they’re committing one of the various fallacies, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re wrong.
