No one knows what species they are, possibly including themselves. In a setting where everyone else is an anthro, they have no apparent animal traits. In fact, trying to de-anthropomorphize them just reverts them to their baseline physical state. The most that can be said is that they’re keenly intelligent and creative at “solving problems,” and that they’re pretty brave relative to their complete lack of combat abilities.
