You start the game with a guest party member called Nozomi. Her skill tree looks incredible, but you’re done with her around level 5 of 99.

For a while when you’re around level 30, Nozomi becomes available again. I put in the work to grind her up 25 levels, and she’s the only reason I made it through some of the most annoying maps.

Nozomi is yanked away again around level 35. Based on the game’s structure so far, I think she comes back when you’re around level 60, and you have to grind her even more in order to use her.

Seriously, fuck this.

No matter which whackjob I side with, I’ll get a bad ending. After seeing all the bad endings, I’ll finally unlock the option to tell the biggest whackjob to sod off, beat her up, and unlock an ending that doesn’t suck. So why can’t I tell her to sod off now, without having to get railroaded through all the bad endings first? None of the smaller whackjobs are people I would voluntarily side with anyway.

There are stories that can pull off the Seven Deadly Sins as ironic virtues. This is not one of them. All the characters mourn the Greed boss after he dies trying to kill them and wipe out a good chunk of humanity, and I’m just sitting here like “Why do you even care about this prick?”

Let me explain why I’m so frustrated with Monark.

The MC is a knife-fighter, so most of his attacks have terrible range.

Most of his attacks can be countered unless he gets a backstab.

Most of his attacks cost HP to use.

If he ever hits 0 HP, you lose no matter how many other party members are still standing.

At least Persona lets other party members jump in front of the killing blow!
