One of the biggest assumptions that nobody questions is which ideologies can be fixed to prevent past failures vs. which ideologies will always fail in the same way. This is one of the few points I'll actually give Hope. He points out something he sees as a failure and wants to change. Someone else points out that historically, his ideology had the same failure. He says that he thinks his ideology can be fixed to prevent that failure in the future, and everyone laughs at him. You also think your ideology can be fixed to prevent failures! You're not different from him!
