Sep. 4th, 2022 03:16 amI feel like Dungeon Munchies wants to be the kind of game I could write a Fiction for Utilitarians about, but it kind of talks out of both sides of its mouth. It presents situations where it would be unrealistically easy to stop hurting people. Like, you know those Tumblr posts about how some people seem to think there’s a machine that produces pain, and we can create utopia just by shutting off the machine? That’s not far off from some of the stuff that happens in Dungeon Munchies. Then at the same time, it describes those situations as if they were complicated real-life situations where people will be hurt no matter what you do. So I can’t address the metaphor because it doesn’t fit, and I can’t say anything about the in-game situations because they’re so simplistic.
