I wonder sometimes about how to translate my style to traits and conditions I don’t have. I’m willing to write about things that are gross, uncomfortable, or offensive if those are things I have to deal with. But when I’m writing about things I haven’t experienced, where’s the line between “being frank” and “encouraging people to point and laugh”?
But I’ve been reading posts about how Lycanthropy and Other Chronic Illnesses is “cultural appropriation,” and holy shit, if that’s all it takes to offend people, then I might as well embrace the offense.
