Shout out to that time years ago when this one blog posted a Jewish story. It was about a group of rabbis, all but one of whom supported one interpretation of the Talmud. The one rabbi refused to give up his own interpretation. God’s voice came down and told them all the one rabbi was right, but the other rabbis said God lost the majority vote.
Some blogs thought the point of the story was that the other rabbis were right, and God isn’t something that stands above you, but someone you can argue with. Other blogs thought the point of the story was that the other rabbis were stubborn and disrespectful. They posted back and forth about it for some time.
I only realized this just now, but these Jewish bloggers were arguing over when Jews should give up and stop arguing.
