I feel like there’s a difference between “this game failed to do what it meant to do” and “this game succeeded at doing something I wasn’t looking for in a game.” Like, I played Blue Estate, and I didn’t like how it tried to be juvenile and offensive to everyone, but it’s not like it tried and failed to be intelligent. I think Sisi Jiang doesn’t usually make this distinction . . .

Then again, it’s not like she tries to distinguish, so I can’t claim she “fails.”
